Hi, my name is Darlene and I am a Christian, wife, mom of five sons (blended family), and the founder of my blog Healed to Speak.

I created this blog to share my story of healing from the effects of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Because I experienced many forms of abuse throughout most of my adolescent years, I understand the negative impact it can have on your life when you have not experienced true healing from God. Although long, my journey to healing was a process, I am grateful for. Despite what happened in my past, I learned I am an overcomer through Christ Jesus.

In addition to writing about my past experiences of abuse, I will also discuss marriage. The marital relationship is the only relationship designed to represent Christ. However, it is the one relationship many people struggle to maintain. Most people enter the marital relationship with false ideologies. They believe they will no longer be subject to hurt, rejection, fear, disappointment, or heartache. But it simply isnโ€™t true for myriad reasons.

Like many people, I entered my marriage with high expectations of what it was supposed to be. However, after the first year, I wondered what I had gotten myself into. Blending our families, managing our finances, dealing with exes and other outsides forces, almost destroyed us. But Glory to God, we made it! After thirteen years later, I am happy to say I love being married.

Because of what I experienced and learned, it is my desire to share my stories with you. I strongly believe if I had been well informed about things I would encounter in marriage, I would have avoided certain pitfalls.

My prayer as you read my posts is that you receive healing, freedom and feel the presence of Godโ€™s love as I share my thoughts with you. I am excited that you have joined me, and I look forward to your journey to healing knowing that God has great things in store for you!

Exodus 15:26 – “He said, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I AM THE LORD, WHO HEALS YOU.”

  1. Your Video is a Blessing!! I can relate to a lot that you shared. Thank you for sharing. I love writing, Thank God for google spelling!! I started out writing in books journals many years ago. I still have them, they go with me where I move too. The writing was to help my Healing as a child, teen, adult. I have come a long way, and I thank Jesus Christ for it ((All)) I’m still a working process. But I can see where I am today, from where I was. You keep going forward and allow the Holy Spirit to use you for His purpose. I’m going to stop!! lol lol because I can talk but it’s ((all)) good. ((Hugs)) ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hi Darlene, thanks for liking my post, Love the title of your blog, Healed to Speak. A wonderful, blog to speak about something that is a major problem in society that few girls, and women from all walks of life simply do not want to talk about because of guilt and shame. Thank you, for allowing Father to heal you, to share your story so others can heal and speak out about what they suffered to. ashes4him.
    Blessings!
