Hello everyone!

I hope all is well. How are you feeling? Did you enjoy your weekend? Did you brave the Christmas shopping crowd?

Well, tomorrow is the big day! My children are ecstatic and have been counting down the days since July. I love spending time with my family during the holidays especially when we’re all together. But this year, my three eldest sons are spending time with their families who live up North and down South. This is the hard part of having a blended family. This Christmas, my husband and I are celebrating with our two youngest boys who are eight and ten. I was a little disappointed, but I am much better now.

My youngest sons miss their oldest brothers but they are not disappointed at all. They are looking forward to what my husband and I have blessed them with this year. I decided to take a page out of their book and focus my attention on what matters most about tomorrow and that is the birth of my savior Jesus Christ.

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” – II Corinthians 9:15

This is the time to celebrate Him! Therefore, I am going to rejoice, drink plenty of coffee, bake cookies with my children, bake my first sweet potato pie from scratch, and give God praise because if it were not for Christ’s birth, Christmas would not exist.

Maybe your holiday isn’t going as planned, but I encourage you to focus on what’s most important, the birth of our savior. The person who was born to save us from sin. The person who has overcome the world. Thank God for Jesus!

Merry Christmas to you!
PS. I’ll let you know how the pie turns out!
